Building dreams,
elevating standards.

A family-owned builder in South Carolina. From a single repair to a new home built from the ground up, every project is planned like an engineer would and built like a carpenter should.

Step 1 of 5

A square, level start

Layout lines, measurements and a level base come first. Most problems you see years later, like sticking doors, cracked drywall and uneven floors, start right here. We check it twice before anything goes up.

Step 2 of 5

Framing is our home turf

Plates, studs, headers and openings, set plumb and on layout. Carpentry is where Nexus started, and a straight frame is what makes every trade after us faster and every finish cleaner.

Step 3 of 5

Roof lines that stay true

Ridge, rafters and ceiling joists cut to the plan. Load paths are something an engineer thinks about without being asked, so the structure is right before it is hidden.

Step 4 of 5

Closed in, protected

Sheathing on walls and roof gets the building dried in. Your project is protected from weather, and the inside work can start on schedule.

Step 5 of 5

Finished, and handed back to you

Siding, roofing, trim, doors and windows, then the interior details. We walk the job with you, close the punch list and leave the site clean. That is when the lights come on.

Engineer by training. Carpenter by trade.

Iago Guedes earned his degree in mechanical engineering, then spent the last seven years where he really wanted to be: on the job site, with a framing square in his hand.

He founded Nexus Build Works as a family company, built on one simple rule: treat every project like it is our own home. That engineering background shows up in the details clients feel later. Layouts that are square, numbers that are checked, schedules that hold. And because it is a family business, you always know exactly who is responsible for your job.

We work with all kinds of people: homeowners updating one room, families who want a full remodel, investors flipping a property, and clients building a new house from the ground up.
